My perspective of How BrokerXP review help me and how can help you also.

With advanced trading tools and charting features.

BrokerXP Slogan

BrokerXP Fees

If trading fees are important to you, then BrokerXP has you covered. BrokerXP offers low spreads that are available to all customers. For forex traders, BrokerXP has no fees at all, this means that you can maximize profits when trading currency pairs. The broker also offers a guaranteed stop-loss order which Is when clients get their stop-loss order rate guaranteed when setting a risk threshold in their position. BrokerXP also offers a 200:1 leverage ratio, which means that for every $1 in your account, you control $200 in the market. So if you are trading and don’t have much capital, you can still generate significant income as your profits can be multiplied by 200x. However, if you are a beginner then it is not advised that you use leverage on your trades. As profits are multiplied, so are losses. Before leveraging, learn the basics and trade using a demo account as this can stop you from losing too much money when you start trading actual capital.

BrokerXP Security

MT4 and BrokerXP have end-to-end encryption that secures trades and funds that are within the trading account itself. Imagine your trading account like a debit card, you wouldn’t put thousands of dollars in your debit card and leave it on a park bench. So when choosing what trading platform you want to go with, make sure that they take the security of your account and funds are serious as you do.

BrokerXP MT4

MetaTrader 4 is seen as the flagship trading platform, used by individual traders at home and large institutional investors alike. The platform is available on iPads, iPhones, Android phones, Android tablets, and just about any other web-enabled device. If you want to use the desktop version, instead of the web-app version, then you can download the desktop version and trade from the version. Once you’ve downloaded or loaded the platform, you can log in using your BrokerXP credentials. You can customize the charting interface, changing between light and dark mode, along with some other interface elements. Like with most online platforms, the security flaws come as a result of the customer not securing their side of things. This means that when you are trading, make sure to use long passwords that are difficult to guess and crack. Also, try and avoid trading on public computers as these can lead to your account being compromised.
On MT4 you will notice some phrases on the trading interface, here is some explanation of what they mean. When you see the Symbol tab, this means that you can choose between markets. BrokerXP offers many different trading asset options. You can trade forex, gold, stocks indices, and more. The volume tab is where you decide on your trading size. When you see 1 lot, this is equal to 100,000 units of the base currency. The Type tab is where you decide on your trade execution mode, we advise that you stick to ‘instant execution’ as this will place a trade as soon as your press ‘buy’ or ‘sell’. If you set a ‘pending order’, then the platform will make the trade when the market opens back up. The forex market is open 24/7, so this execution method will rarely be available. Stop-loss is another term that you may see on the MT4 interface, this means that your trades are exited when your profits hit a predetermined point.
Depending on what type of trader you are, the platform will offer you a specific set of charting timeframes that best suit you. For example, if you are day trading you may look at charts on a 10-minute timeframe. MT4 offers charting timeframes for 1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, 1 day, and 1 month. You can also set custom timeframes in case the standard ones are not suitable for your trading technique.
Along with advanced timeframes, MT4 also offers 30 technical indicators such as the Elliot Wave indicator, Bollinger Bands, and pivot points, along with many more. There are also third-party add-ons that can be integrated with the platform in order to customize your interface further. Add-ons like Stealth Orders and Alarm Manager are two of the most popular addons. The first is an extension, Stealth Orders is designed to anonymize trades, with Alarm Manager helping coordinate alerts and notifications. With MT4, you can also create your own extensions using Java API, which is one of the platforms most advantageous features, as it can make everything unique.

BrokerXP Mobile Trading

The MetaTrader 4 mobile app is designed with the main focus being on ease-of-use. The mobile app is packaged with lots of research tools, advanced charts, and watch lists for scanning, with many more features.
When using BrokerXP’s mobile trading app (MT4), the look and feel of the mobile app have the same appearance as the web version. This means that if you know to operate the web-based platform, then the mobile app will be easy for you to grasp. With charting, you are given the same charts that are offered on the web app. However, due to the mobile screen being smaller, carrying out advanced forex analysis may be more difficult on mobile devices. But for making orders, setting stop loss or checking basic tasks, the mobile app is more than capable of doing so. The main benefit of using the mobile app is that you can make trades on the go. You no longer have to be at your computer or office in order to set trades. Let’s say that you make a trade at home then go grocery shopping. Whilst you are out you realize that you didn’t set stop-loss in your rush and your pair is depreciating when you check. Now, you can use your mobile to exit a position immediately, you don’t need to wait until you get home.

BrokerXP Customer Service

BrokerXP has a great dedicated customer service team, they are very professional and offer solutions to all of the problems that you could present them with. If you are a new trader, then you may encounter some problems when trying to get to grips with a new trading platform, so BrokerXP offers extensive educational resources. These educational resources are designed to help people familiarise themselves with the platform and all of the financial assets that are available to be traded on the BrokerXP platform. The MT4 platform also has a customer support team that is able to deal with any questions or issues that you are having on the trading side of things. MT4 also has a community section for traders, where questions about trading can get answered. A community forum is a great place for you to get tips about trading and non-essential things that the customer support team may not need to answer.
For customer service, you could read here and on this link.
To conclude, BrokerXP is one of the best choices for financial asset trading available.
Their low fees and advanced features make it perfect for beginners and pros alike.

Trading economic news

The majority of this sub is focused on technical analysis. I regularly ridicule such "tea leaf readers" and advocate for trading based on fundamentals and economic news instead, so I figured I should take the time to write up something on how exactly you can trade economic news releases.
This post is long as balls so I won't be upset if you get bored and go back to your drooping dick patterns or whatever.

How economic news is released

First, it helps to know how economic news is compiled and released. Let's take Initial Jobless Claims, the number of initial claims for unemployment benefits around the United States from Sunday through Saturday. Initial in this context means the first claim for benefits made by an individual during a particular stretch of unemployment. The Initial Jobless Claims figure appears in the Department of Labor's Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report, which compiles information from all of the per-state departments that report to the DOL during the week. A typical number is between 100k and 250k and it can vary quite significantly week-to-week.
The Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report contains data that lags 5 days behind. For example, the Report issued on Thursday March 26th 2020 contained data about the week ending on Saturday March 21st 2020.
In the days leading up to the Report, financial companies will survey economists and run complicated mathematical models to forecast the upcoming Initial Jobless Claims figure. The results of surveyed experts is called the "consensus"; specific companies, experts, and websites will also provide their own forecasts. Different companies will release different consensuses. Usually they are pretty close (within 2-3k), but for last week's record-high Initial Jobless Claims the reported consensuses varied by up to 1M! In other words, there was essentially no consensus.
The Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report is released each Thursday morning at exactly 8:30 AM ET. (On Thanksgiving the Report is released on Wednesday instead.) Media representatives gather at the Frances Perkins Building in Washington DC and are admitted to the "lockup" at 8:00 AM ET. In order to be admitted to the lockup you have to be a credentialed member of a media organization that has signed the DOL lockup agreement. The lockup room is small so there is a limited number of spots.
No phones are allowed. Reporters bring their laptops and connect to a local network; there is a master switch on the wall that prevents/enables Internet connectivity on this network. Once the doors are closed the Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report is distributed, with a heading that announces it is "embargoed" (not to be released) prior to 8:30 AM. Reporters type up their analyses of the report, including extracting key figures like Initial Jobless Claims. They load their write-ups into their companies' software, which prepares to send it out as soon as Internet is enabled. At 8:30 AM the DOL representative in the room flips the wall switch and all of the laptops are connected to the Internet, releasing their write-ups to their companies and on to their companies' partners.
Many of those media companies have externally accessible APIs for distributing news. Media aggregators and squawk services (like RanSquawk and TradeTheNews) subscribe to all of these different APIs and then redistribute the key economic figures from the Report to their own subscribers within one second after Internet is enabled in the DOL lockup.
Some squawk services are text-based while others are audio-based. FinancialJuice.com provides a free audio squawk service; internally they have a paid subscription to a professional squawk service and they simply read out the latest headlines to their own listeners, subsidized by ads on the site. I've been using it for 4 months now and have been pretty happy. It usually lags behind the official release times by 1-2 seconds and occasionally they verbally flub the numbers or stutter and have to repeat, but you can't beat the price!
Important - I’m not affiliated with FinancialJuice and I’m not advocating that you use them over any other squawk. If you use them and they misspeak a number and you lose all your money don’t blame me. If anybody has any other free alternatives please share them!

How the news affects forex markets

Institutional forex traders subscribe to these squawk services and use custom software to consume the emerging data programmatically and then automatically initiate trades based on the perceived change to the fundamentals that the figures represent.
It's important to note that every institution will have "priced in" their own forecasted figures well in advance of an actual news release. Forecasts and consensuses all come out at different times in the days leading up to a news release, so by the time the news drops everybody is really only looking for an unexpected result. You can't really know what any given institution expects the value to be, but unless someone has inside information you can pretty much assume that the market has collectively priced in the experts' consensus. When the news comes out, institutions will trade based on the difference between the actual and their forecast.
Sometimes the news reflects a real change to the fundamentals with an economic effect that will change the demand for a currency, like an interest rate decision. However, in the case of the Initial Jobless Claims figure, which is a backwards-looking metric, trading is really just self-fulfilling speculation that market participants will buy dollars when unemployment is low and sell dollars when unemployment is high. Generally speaking, news that reflects a real economic shift has a bigger effect than news that only matters to speculators.
Massive and extremely fast news-based trades happen within tenths of a second on the ECNs on which institutional traders are participants. Over the next few seconds the resulting price changes trickle down to retail traders. Some economic news, like Non Farm Payroll Employment, has an effect that can last minutes to hours as "slow money" follows behind on the trend created by the "fast money". Other news, like Initial Jobless Claims, has a short impact that trails off within a couple minutes and is subsequently dwarfed by the usual pseudorandom movements in the market.
The bigger the difference between actual and consensus, the bigger the effect on any given currency pair. Since economic news releases generally relate to a single currency, the biggest and most easily predicted effects are seen on pairs where one currency is directly effected and the other is not affected at all. Personally I trade USD/JPY because the time difference between the US and Japan ensures that no news will be coming out of Japan at the same time that economic news is being released in the US.
Before deciding to trade any particular news release you should measure the historical correlation between the release (specifically, the difference between actual and consensus) and the resulting short-term change in the currency pair. Historical data for various news releases (along with historical consensus data) is readily available. You can pay to get it exported into Excel or whatever, or you can scroll through it for free on websites like TradingEconomics.com.
Let's look at two examples: Initial Jobless Claims and Non Farm Payroll Employment (NFP). I collected historical consensuses and actuals for these releases from January 2018 through the present, measured the "surprise" difference for each, and then correlated that to short-term changes in USD/JPY at the time of release using 5 second candles.
I omitted any releases that occurred simultaneously as another major release. For example, occasionally the monthly Initial Jobless Claims comes out at the exact same time as the monthly Balance of Trade figure, which is a more significant economic indicator and can be expected to dwarf the effect of the Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report.
USD/JPY correlation with Initial Jobless Claims (2018 - present)
USD/JPY correlation with Non Farm Payrolls (2018 - present)
The horizontal axes on these charts is the duration (in seconds) after the news release over which correlation was calculated. The vertical axis is the Pearson correlation coefficient: +1 means that the change in USD/JPY over that duration was perfectly linearly correlated to the "surprise" in the releases; -1 means that the change in USD/JPY was perfectly linearly correlated but in the opposite direction, and 0 means that there is no correlation at all.
For Initial Jobless Claims you can see that for the first 30 seconds USD/JPY is strongly negatively correlated with the difference between consensus and actual jobless claims. That is, fewer-than-forecast jobless claims (fewer newly unemployed people than expected) strengthens the dollar and greater-than-forecast jobless claims (more newly unemployed people than expected) weakens the dollar. Correlation then trails off and changes to a moderate/weak positive correlation. I interpret this as algorithms "buying the dip" and vice versa, but I don't know for sure. From this chart it appears that you could profit by opening a trade for 15 seconds (duration with strongest correlation) that is long USD/JPY when Initial Jobless Claims is lower than the consensus and short USD/JPY when Initial Jobless Claims is higher than expected.
The chart for Non Farm Payroll looks very different. Correlation is positive (higher-than-expected payrolls strengthen the dollar and lower-than-expected payrolls weaken the dollar) and peaks at around 45 seconds, then slowly decreases as time goes on. This implies that price changes due to NFP are quite significant relative to background noise and "stick" even as normal fluctuations pick back up.
I wanted to show an example of what the USD/JPY S5 chart looks like when an "uncontested" (no other major simultaneously news release) Initial Jobless Claims and NFP drops, but unfortunately my broker's charts only go back a week. (I can pull historical data going back years through the API but to make it into a pretty chart would be a bit of work.) If anybody can get a 5-second chart of USD/JPY at March 19, 2020, UTC 12:30 and/or at February 7, 2020, UTC 13:30 let me know and I'll add it here.

Backtesting

So without too much effort we determined that (1) USD/JPY is strongly negatively correlated with the Initial Jobless Claims figure for the first 15 seconds after the release of the Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report (when no other major news is being released) and also that (2) USD/JPY is strongly positively correlated with the Non Farms Payroll figure for the first 45 seconds after the release of the Employment Situation report.
Before you can assume you can profit off the news you have to backtest and consider three important parameters.
Entry speed: How quickly can you realistically enter the trade? The correlation performed above was measured from the exact moment the news was released, but realistically if you've got your finger on the trigger and your ear to the squawk it will take a few seconds to hit "Buy" or "Sell" and confirm. If 90% of the price move happens in the first second you're SOL. For back-testing purposes I assume a 5 second delay. In practice I use custom software that opens a trade with one click, and I can reliably enter a trade within 2-3 seconds after the news drops, using the FinancialJuice free squawk.
Minimum surprise: Should you trade every release or can you do better by only trading those with a big enough "surprise" factor? Backtesting will tell you whether being more selective is better long-term or not.
Hold time: The optimal time to hold the trade is not necessarily the same as the time of maximum correlation. That's a good starting point but it's not necessarily the best number. Backtesting each possible hold time will let you find the best one.
The spread: When you're only holding a position open for 30 seconds, the spread will kill you. The correlations performed above used the midpoint price, but in reality you have to buy at the ask and sell at the bid. Brokers aren't stupid and the moment volume on the ECN jumps they will widen the spread for their retail customers. The only way to determine if the news-driven price movements reliably overcome the spread is to backtest.
Stops: Personally I don't use stops, neither take-profit nor stop-loss, since I'm automatically closing the trade after a fixed (and very short) amount of time. Additionally, brokers have a minimum stop distance; the profits from scalping the news are so slim that even the nearest stops they allow will generally not get triggered.
I backtested trading these two news releases (since 2018), using a 5 second entry delay, real historical spreads, and no stops, cycling through different "surprise" thresholds and hold times to find the combination that returns the highest net profit. It's important to maximize net profit, not expected value per trade, so you don't over-optimize and reduce the total number of trades taken to one single profitable trade. If you want to get fancy you can set up a custom metric that combines number of trades, expected value, and drawdown into a single score to be maximized.
For the Initial Jobless Claims figure I found that the best combination is to hold trades open for 25 seconds (that is, open at 5 seconds elapsed and hold until 30 seconds elapsed) and only trade when the difference between consensus and actual is 7k or higher. That leads to 30 trades taken since 2018 and an expected return of... drumroll please... -0.0093 yen per unit per trade.
Yep, that's a loss of approx. $8.63 per lot.
Disappointing right? That's the spread and that's why you have to backtest. Even though the release of the Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report has a strong correlation with movement in USD/JPY, it's simply not something that a retail trader can profit from.
Let's turn to the NFP. There I found that the best combination is to hold trades open for 75 seconds (that is, open at 5 seconds elapsed and hold until 80 seconds elapsed) and trade every single NFP (no minimum "surprise" threshold). That leads to 20 trades taken since 2018 and an expected return of... drumroll please... +0.1306 yen per unit per trade.
That's a profit of approx. $121.25 per lot. Not bad for 75 seconds of work! That's a +6% ROI at 50x leverage.

Make it real

If you want to do this for realsies, you need to run these numbers for all of the major economic news releases. Markit Manufacturing PMI, Factory Orders MoM, Trade Balance, PPI MoM, Export and Import Prices, Michigan Consumer Sentiment, Retail Sales MoM, Industrial Production MoM, you get the idea. You keep a list of all of the releases you want to trade, when they are released, and the ideal hold time and "surprise" threshold. A few minutes before the prescribed release time you open up your broker's software, turn on your squawk, maybe jot a few notes about consensuses and model forecasts, and get your finger on the button. At the moment you hear the release you open the trade in the correct direction, hold it (without looking at the chart!) for the required amount of time, then close it and go on with your day.
Some benefits of trading this way: * Most major economic releases come out at either 8:30 AM ET or 10:00 AM ET, and then you're done for the day. * It's easily backtestable. You can look back at the numbers and see exactly what to expect your return to be. * It's fun! Packing your trading into 30 seconds and knowing that institutions are moving billions of dollars around as fast as they can based on the exact same news you just read is thrilling. * You can wow your friends by saying things like "The St. Louis Fed had some interesting remarks on consumer spending in the latest Beige Book." * No crayons involved.
Some downsides: * It's tricky to be fast enough without writing custom software. Some broker software is very slow and requires multiple dialog boxes before a position is opened, which won't cut it. * The profits are very slim, you're not going to impress your instagram followers to join your expensive trade copying service with your 30-second twice-weekly trades. * Any friends you might wow with your boring-ass economic talking points are themselves the most boring people in the world.
I hope you enjoyed this long as fuck post and you give trading economic news a try!

COSS exchange is ready to resume operations. Please read the following announcement carefully.

https://preview.redd.it/afpkritv1fk41.png?width=3556&format=png&auto=webp&s=9296f8b63636c34729c10d8575a37dcd65e76a6f
https://medium.com/coss-official/update-coss-exchange-relaunch-roadmap-18a5ff7549a3/
Hello everyone.
COSS exchange is ready to resume operations shortly after almost 8 weeks of downtime.
In this update, we discuss the following:

The Downtime

COSS exchange was taken offline on January 7th 2020 with immediate notice to all users. The plan was to begin migration to a white label platform after proceeding with account-level snapshots.
The migration was halted mid-way as COSS entered and finalised acquisition negotiations, followed by audits of the existing technology, user data and wallets.
With the audits completed, the new management decided to do away with the old exchange platform and introduce a much more advanced engine for its users.
This is the platform which goes online this week with many added features including derivatives with up to 100x leverage, as well as an Exchange Swap Engine for instant conversions.

New Management

We apologise for the downtime — unconditionally.
The decision to shut down the exchange was not in our control and we, unfortunately, were handed over a shut exchange. We have done our best to re-enable the exchange for all users quickly and assure you that such missteps will be avoided at all costs in the future.
The new COSS is a group of investors, professional traders, and financial technology specialists. Who strongly believes in the original vision of COSS — a one-stop platform for modern digital assets whose success is dependent on and shared with all its users — a unique approach to decentralised finance.
The idea is in line with the original concept of creating a shared ‘digital economy’ instead of mirroring a system where the traditional institutional lenders and service providers benefit while the people pay fees to use and access their own assets.
The investment group has appointed a board of directors and is currently assessing nominations for the role of CEO.
The board will leave the day-to-day operations to the CEO and their team with a clear mandate — to restore and build COSS the brand for success.
Rune and the previous technology, operations and marketing teams will no longer be involved with COSS. We appreciate their work in the past and wish them all the best for future endeavours.
Satyarth will continue to remain on board with us and support the community management, marketing and PR team.

New Technology Partner

The new management has carefully evaluated several options to ensure COSS has a stable, scalable and continuously improving technology platform.
We have partnered with XHUB — a financial and trading technology company.
The XHUB team has vast experience in working with brokers, hedge funds, and proprietary trading firms.
XHUB maintains one of the largest cryptocurrency liquidity and order routing systems in the industry, and a trading platform which has been exclusively and extensively used in-house by large trading firms.
The XHUB technology team will extend its support to COSS API consumers and encourage them to keep building trading applications for the community. Consumers will have access to extensive historical and real-time market data which will allow them to create advanced strategies supported by back-testing.

Roadmap

A general roadmap of the board’s vision for the immediate future is included below. We remain focused on ensuring that COSS provides a reliable trading platform for retail and professional traders alike.

The Fee Split Allocation (FSA) dashboard is under development. However, FSA will be tracked and accrue from day one. COS held in private wallets will need to be re-identified and linked to your new user accounts once the dashboard is launched.
We will initiate a delisting procedure for some assets. A complete list of pairs and the withdrawal process for the same will be released at a later date.
Crypto deposits will remain at 0 fees. A fee schedule for crypto withdrawals will be published on the website.
Fiat deposits will be available via Epay and transfers from Epay wallet to COSS will be at 0 fees.

We will add more fiat options including withdrawals in the coming weeks.
Thank you for all your support and feedback.
We are expecting a rush to access COSS accounts and will complete verification for all applicants as quickly as possible. We apologise for any unforeseen delays during the process. You can reach us on [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) in case you require any further assistance.

What T4B, RoboForex & other brokers bring to the table + why im still bullish af going forward for GVT

Pretty lengthy reply so thought id reply with a new thread for visibility:
@koalaindisguise -> ''Before the project launch, partnership with these forex companies was announced with a big hype. They were not US/UK financial institutions but at least they were companies with legal entities.
I was thinking/hoping that we would be able to entrust our tokens to professional brokers working under these companies. In the end, we have to deal with noname finance gurus on the internet who wants to gamble other people's savings with 50% success fee.
We are just slowly bleeding out one way or the other. I don't think US adoption will turn the table because of tokenomics.''
Before i start:
  • You talk about dealing with some noname finance gurus on the internet, and you would quite happily entrust your tokens to a 'professional broker'. This is the problem with the current industry. There is no transparency. You are entrusting your tokens blindly and you have no idea how your funds are actually being managed nor past performance of these brokers. Genesis Vision gives you the freedom to diversify your investments across multiple different managers, brokers, account types (forex/crypto/stocks) as well as GV Funds & even copytrading soon. With all past and real time results on display.
  • Some of these noname finance gurus might actually be pretty poor traders, in which case they will drop to the bottom of the pile and their trading history open for all to see. There are some good traders too, following all available investment advice would see you wait to make an investment in the right manager based on their program metrics.
  • TLDR - There are good eggs and there are bad eggs, blame the manager for their bad trades, not the platform. Also remember it was your choice to invest in that manager and all the metrics were available for you to view before you did.
Back to your question regarding partnerships:
Tools4Brokers:
  • T4B engage in technological maintenance and software development for brokerage companies, mainly in forex markets.
  • T4B provides solutions to over 250 companies from thirty different countrys
  • Aleksey Kutsenko CEO of Tools For Brokers is the co-founder & CBDO of Genesis Vision
  • Aleksey is responsible for the implementation strategy of the Genesis Vision platform in the Forex industry
  • T4B supply Genesis Vision with ready codebase solutions.
  • A few details on Alekseys background -> https://blog.genesis.vision/genesis-vision-development-plans-for-2018-from-our-cbdo-alexey-kutsenko-c9aa484bb714
IMO this is a very valuable partnership to have. T4B already had an existing portfolio of brokers prior to the release of the GVT platform. This will have proved greatly beneficial in relation to B2B networking for Genesis Vision, not to mention any techical knowledge and business advice T4B will have bought to the table. Going forward im sure this would continue to be greatly beneficial.
RoboForex:
  • RoboForex supports a roster of approximately 9400 assets from eight different categories, those being forex, stocks, indices, ETFs, commodities, metals, energies and even cryptocurrencies with liquidity for them provided by eight separate liquidity providers.
  • Genesis Vision managers have a “pro standard” account type, meaning that they have access to 36 currency pairs, metals, CFDs and cryptocurrencies.
  • GV Managers can trade with a leverage of up to 1:100
The RoboForex broker is just another broker to add to the list of tools and markets available for GV managers to trade on. I have not personally traded on RoboForex so cannot offer an opinion on how good of a broker they are, but at current they just add an addition choice for trading in the GV ecosystem.
This goes for other Crypto/Forex brokers that will arrive in the platform shortly and are currently integrated. With more and more tools and opportunites becoming available for both the current and future GV managers, the higher chances of creating a successful happy manager
MY reasons for continuing to be bullish on GVT
  • The team continue to focus on development that attracts more managers and investors to the platform (Okex, Huobi, Exante, Chinese translation, Copytrading etc.)
  • Im not saying every manager will be profitable, far from it, but more managers = more profits that flow through to buy pressure on GVT.
  • A new leveling system is being developed that rewards managers based on individual performance rather than creating competition between one another
  • Funds are extremely underrated
  • Some did not agree, but the addition of the multicurrency wallet was the BEST step to take. This will allow for further adoption of the platform and growth in the long run, some of you have seen this as a negative step because you are under the impression it has caused the price in sats to go down. I would like to see more assets added to the multicurrency wallet, not less.
  • The token has solid use cases & if you see the latest AMA their are discussions for additional use cases. These usecases scale heavily with adoption.
I check their Github daily. They are building out this platform making more tools and brokers available, which will only lead to increased adoption by Crypto/Forex Managers & Investors.
Then the marketing comes after the development is complete and the platform is perfected
  • We will see hundreds and in time thousands of managers longer term. If we take a conservative guess and say 20% of these managers are making profit, all this profit will flow through the GVT token. There is now only buy pressure on the token, the sell pressure was removed with the addition of the multicurrency wallet.
  • Some of you have previously said 'Well wont the investor just sell their profits distributed in GVT?'. Of course they can, if they choose too. But alternatively they can also hold GVT for reduced trading fees, reinvest their GVT to another program, invest in a GV Fund, subscribe to a copy trader using GVT as the subscription fee. The latter again, positively effects the Genesis Vision Token.
Heres my other reasons (Yes i've been watching GVT a long time):

r/Stocks Technicals Tuesday - Dec 25, 2018

Feel free to talk about technical analysis here (not argue against it), but before you ask any question make sure you see the following information:
Technical analysis (TA) uses historical price movements, real time data, indicators based on math and/or statistics, and charts; all of which help measure the trajectory of a security. TA can also be used to interpret the actions of other market participants and predict their actions:
Measure: Is the security's price trending, has it dipped or is it a falling knife? Interpret: Does the current price mean investors think it's undervalued or overvalued; when did they buy/sell more and why? Predict: If price reaches a certain point, will there be a rally or get rejected?
The main benefit to TA is that everything shows up in the price (commonly known as priced in): All news, investor sentiment, and changes to fundamentals are reflected in a security's price.
TA is best used for short term trading, but can also be used for long term.

A Day in the Life of a Stock Trader - Blog | Horizon Institute

Section 1 – What does a stock trader actually do
The life of a trader is often glamorised by films such as The Wolf of Wallstreet and Margin Call – a view that is shared by many who have no direct experience with the wider investment industry. It is also true that different types of traders have very different workloads. Trading emerging markets is not the same as trading FTSE stocks or the forex markets.
Let’s start by defining what traders, broadly speaking actually are:
“Professionals in finance who buy and/or sell assets on the financial markets.”
A day in the life of a trader: Behind the scenes
These are people who usually have a background in finance, either through traditional education (think degrees in finance, accounting, economics, investment management etc) or through practical experience at companies working within financial services.
This is to say that the day-to-day activities of a trader is to either buy assets (such as stocks, futures, commodities) or to sell assets (such as stocks, forex, bonds). Two distinct roles in trading can be summed up in the Buy side, and the Sell side in terms of execution.
A broader categorisation would include participants within the financial markets who trade securities. This encompasses independent traders working from home to large multinational financial institutions which see billions of dollars a day flow from and to their order books.
The Buy Side
The Buy side is concerned with purchasing assets, and this generally involves taking orders from management or clients and then sending those orders to the broker to be executed. This role is being gradually replaced by technology, specifically automation and AI, and its hard to see a future for buy side traders 20 years from now. There is also a distinctly bad reputation associated with buy side traders, these are often just messengers, and have been known to treat brokers with incredible hostility and bitterness over recent years.
The Sell Side
Alternatively, the Sell side is just the opposite – these traders are only concerned with selling positions either the firm or the firms clients holds. Again technology is eliminating this role over time, and today both buy and sell side traders simply take message, and pass it along either electronically through an online platform or via telephone for the perhaps more traditional establishments.
Private Hedge fund managers
Many successful traders have gone on to start hedge funds with private companies and from private investors. This is a highly privileged position to be in, as hedge fund managers are in control of both the broad strategy for the investments and receives the greatest compensation should the strategy be profitable.
Private Portfolio Managers
Portfolio managers working at a private company (such as a large hedge fund) is again a much sought after position. Portfolio managers generally create a positive or negative selection portfolio, which allows them to implement their own strategy to make the best returns with the lease risk – although these parameters are often set outside the control of the individual portfolio manager. The same also exists within commercial banking, but it is usually more focused on creating a very balanced portfolio that exists to hedge risk as opposed to making real returns.
Analysts
Analysts do the number crunching and quantitative prep work for the portfolio or hedge fund managers. This role involves applied finance and taking a close look at various assets fundamentals. This includes the balance sheet, income statement and cashflow statement for analysts looking at stocks. This is usually a relatively junior role, and those who are successful here tend to become traders, portfolio managers and eventually hedge fund managers over the course of a successful career.
Investment Banking
There are still plenty of traders left at investment banks, despite the decline over the last few decades. As much as 90% of the time is spent dealing with clients such as Hedge and Pension Funds.
Investment Bank Traders
As much as 90% of the time is spent dealing with clients such as Hedge and Pension Funds.
The trader is then Making Markets in Assets the clients want to buy/sell, such as stocks, currencies, commodities and bonds.
The other 10% of time is Proprietary trading, utilising the banks large balance sheet to create a positive selection portfolio.
Market Makers (Agency)
Market making is the primary task of an investment trader (~80% of market making business)
Split into two sections:
Agency Business – Client holds risk
Risk business – Investment Bank holds risk
Investment Bank charges commission on these activities at a typical rate of 5 basis points or 0.05%
Example – Buy £10,000,000 of BP stock at £100 per share = 100,000 BP shares.
Commission for bank - £10,000,000 X 0.005 = £5,000
Risk free for bank – algorithm executes trades based on client orders
In terms of basis points, 100 = 1%
Proprietary Trading
This type of trading can happen in two ways, the first where small investors at home use their own capital to trade for a direct gain or commercially where a firm uses its own capital to make trades to be the prime beneficially of the rewards should the trade go well. This is in contrast to how hedge funds would normally just earn a commission, by also utilising internal capital the firm is able to take larger risks, which tend to come with the larger rewards.
Here’s another interesting fact:
“Only 6% of candidates end up making it as a professional trader” (Business Insider, 2011)
This statement alone shows just how competitive the industry is, and to make a successful career is even harder, with only ~5% of traders ever making it to a managerial level.
A day in the life of a trader: Behind the scenes
Section 2 – How does 8 hours day break down?
6:00 AM
Traders usually start the day at 6.30 AM and start to catch up on news that broke overnight that may A) affect current positions or B) provide opportunities for new positions. These changes are digested, and areas of special interest are noted for further analysis later.
7:00 AM
Arrive at trading floor at 7:30, 30 minutes before markets open. This is the time where traders prepare themselves for the day. It also serves as an opportunity to talk to colleagues. For most hedge funds and other long-term traders, team meetings will happen in the morning to ensure all traders are up to speed and playing from the same game plan.
8:00 AM
Markets open: based on overnight news there may be buying / selling activity to adjust the traders portfolio based on the latest information. Many traders prefer not to trade at the market open due to higher volatility as traders from around the world react to overnight news.
9:00 AM
A common task around 9:00 AM would be to scan the market for short term opportunities, or to catch up on fundamental company analysis of companies in the watch list.
10:00 AM
Continuation of analysis or opportunity seeking based on the traders own intuition, experience and judgement. This is also prime time for internal meetings with the team and meetings with clients, potential clients etc.
11:00 AM
Here we see lower volume and volatility, and so short-term opportunities diminish, traders are thinking about lunch at this point. Finishing up financial models and analysis done in the morning. Another prime time for meetings with the team and clients.
12:00 PM
Most long-term traders take lunch, some short-term traders will stay at the desk as timing can be critical to a successful day.
1:00 PM
As investment banks and other major institutions return from lunch volatility in the markets increases and short-term traders get back to work. Long-term traders generally get back to analysis, risk management or strategy functions with only a cursory interest in the current market prices and volatility.
2:00 PM
Day traders will spend this time monitoring positions and executing trades as necessary. Long-term traders use this period in a variety of ways, as mentioned above.
3:00 PM
Short-term traders now think about closing existing positions and stop looking for new opportunities. This is also where the administrative functions of cancelling unfilled orders, or for long term traders, finalising analysis of the day and presenting it to stakeholders. This is the last chance to exit positions for the trading day.
4:00 PM
The markets are now closed. Traders often look back at the day, seeing what went well (and what didn’t). Management will often check in and with-it bureaucracy and paperwork.
5:00 PM
Time to leave the office and go home. The advent of mobile internet means most traders are now reading the latest financial news, following commentary and thinking about the strategy for tomorrow.
6:00 PM
If all went well arrive home, if not then its likely the trader will still be at the office working to meet the deadline of the day, from financial models to briefing management and clients.
7:00 PM
Outside of the general workday, traders will spend much of the evening doing research and analysis – everything from learning about the markets to experimenting with financial models to taking an advanced excel course.
Section 3 – Why you might want to be a stock trader
We meet a lot of traders, its what we do – and here are a few of the top reasons traders we spoke to continue to do what they do.
Love the Game
Many traders are extremely fond of the game that is the financial markets. Day traders talk about the rush as fast-paced action that runs from 8am to 4pm 5 days a week. The same holds true for long-term traders, and while lacking the constant adrenaline of day trading the highs of closing a trade that’s been on-going for months is just as great a feeling – the analogy one trader used was whereas day traders get Christmas every day, long-term traders get all of their Christmases at once, 4-5 times a year.
Financial Freedom
This is not just about the ability to make a living from trading and the financial markets, but from having the knowledge and understanding of the world of finance to make sound financial decisions, whether that be in deciding between a fixed or variable mortgage, or the best ways to allocate capital to save for school fees.
Intellectual Challenge
There is undoubtedly both an intellectual and an emotional challenge in trading successfully. While it is said that day traders trade emotion, long term portfolio managers trade on intellect and sound financial decision making.
Style & Expression
Traders all trade differently, from value investors to crypto speculators each trader develops a style and method of trading that fits their way of life and the perception they have of the world around them. If you are emotional in-tune with the wider world, then day trading can be exceptionally profitable. The same holds true for value investors like Warren Buffet, a trader who enjoys digesting and analysing reams of company reports to find what Buffet calls “Great companies at fair prices”.
This post has hopefully given you an understanding of the typical day in the life of a trader. If you feel your ready to take the next step towards a career in trading and finance, Horizon provides a comprehensive introductory course on Investing for Beginners.

Trade.io is gonna make a headlines in 2018

To some friends of mine, those who already know of trade.io, and wondering to keep up with trade-token (TIO) they have bought.
Last year in 2017, trade.io came out with ICO, also the first time for the Liquidity Pool (LP) to be presented. LP is a great feature but there are many other things to TIO than those that meet the eye.
  1. First of all, TIO is the utility of a full-fledged exchange. It is developed by people from the financial industry and not just tech industry. These guys know what a trading platform should look like and how it must function. The platform I believe will quickly become a platform of choice by most crypto traders. Hence this is going to drive the value of TIO as utility token for the platform. Just if you read one of their post, and the feedback from the Beta Testers of the demo exchange, the platform will have a full suite of technical indicators and a customizable gadgets UI… not just a few like most platforms out there. There is a long list of features and functions that have been implemented and considering from community idea and from beta testers’ suggestions.
  2. Trade.io is not just a crypto exchange. Their plan is to go live starting from cryptos and eventually with regulated licenses, based on white paper and their announcement, the company plans to add other assets classes such as forex, CFDs and etc. To me, this is a big game changer. This says, the management knows what they are doing and have foresight. you see cryptos go through waves of ups and downs, it’s so cool that during down times in cryptos like now, TIO still keep its own pace, and trade.io allows its clients to be able to trade other assets. Just look at the forex market and you will see how small crypto world is. If we take a footstep forward to forex with TIO as utility token along with BTV, our exchange will be the best.
  3. Trade.io is also planning on being a full-fledged exchange that takes other companies “public”. As we have seen, for now they offer other projects to launch their ICO on the exchange through trade.io, this will very quickly progress into offering companies to go public on exchange in the traditional manner to but cutting out the big advisory and exchanges fees of traditional exchanges.
  4. LIQUIDITY POOL. Guys, for God’s sake read and understand what they trying to do, because once you do, you will not sell your TIO! When trade.io says they plan to disrupt trading, with a distributed liquidity pool where everyone is treated equal, now you will see all these brokers and funds leaving their prime banks for liquidity and use the pool instead. THIS IS when you will see TIO hitting the crazy $500 to $1000 marks… Don’t quote me now but you will because this is what I feel.
  5. TIO demand will be driven by massive demand and lack of supply, why? It’ simple, most people will lock their TIO in pool to gain profits, circulation of TIO in open market will be lesser, demand will be driven by the following
The above are just few reason why me and my group loaded on TIO when possible. We are now gonna HODL till all the above comes forward.
Last but not least, the team behind this project is committed, this project is built to lead.
The best is not yet to come, but it is really close! So to the team of trade.io: We are with you, as always, the company will set a great milestone soon, because you have all our beliefs, our encouragement, and our supports!
This is referred from the message of a user (cryptovision) in our Telegram community.

Qash being listed on Bitfinex, Binance and Bithumb

READ THIS FIRST PLEASE!
My goal here is to make you aware of the project. I couldnt care less if you invest or not, its going to attract institutional money just like Ripple did. (Softbank, Goldman Sach, Morgan Chase, PWC, VISA, Forex brokers - all these companies are strongly tied to this platform)
Qash is also being referred as the bankers coin. Qash has solved the biggest issue for crypto to go mainstream, it lets users buy crypto from all over the world with the currency of their choice. Its implenting the worldbook on all the major exchanges and giving users the best possible price. Its regulated by the Japanese government, which makes the project even more impressive.
How Qash describes its project:
‘LIQUIDITY, the lifeblood of every industry, is the single most important element lacking in the crypto economy today.’
The only available resources of liquidity are siloed across:
• Developed markets that have standalone exchanges operating in closed pools of liquidity, which are not available to non-residents.
• Emerging markets which are underserved with illiquid local currencies that must interact with bigger liquidity pools to utilize crypto tokens in their home currencies.
Solution: LIQUID Platform
QUOINE is launching a single globally-sourced trading platform (World Book) with an associated suite of services (Prime Brokerage) that brings together the entire global network of cryptocurrency exchanges to enable the highest level of liquidity to all markets.
Do a quick research on their team/background and you will be impressed. One of founders of Qash is Mike Kayamore; former Vice President of Softbank.
Qash will be listed is now trading on Qryptos but will soon be listed on major exchanges such as Bitfinex, Binance and even Bithumb.
Japans Richest man is one of the Qash investors; link below has a quick breakdown of Taizo Son.Mike Kayamore and Taizo Son both mentioned in the article below.
Ladies and gentleman, this is one of the biggest projects crypto has witnessed and is exactly what we need to get crypto mainstream. Financial institutions are getting involved with Qash and will make this a multi billion marketcap very soon.
DYOR and let me know below what you guys think.
Coinmarketcap hasnt updated yet but as soon as they do Qash will most likely end up in the top 30 instantly. And again it will be listed on Bitfinex Dec 1st and is now available on Qryptos.

PAUL JOHNSON Q&A ON TELEGRAM

1 Question : Exchange launch
Answer : In terms of timeline, we're looking to launch Beta by end of April. Live launch to occur once we're happy and customers are happy with the beta, and all bugs are worked out. We're fully commited to releasing beta by end of April. I've had sneak peaks, and I'm confident this will occur. We have a very unique platform, unlike anything else that exists in the market, but still with the functionality that everyone is looking for.
2 Question : How are we going to stake tio for LP? Cold wallet? Or through tio wallet?
Answer : Through TIO wallet. You'll be able to add or remove TIO from the wallet at your discretion, providing the ultimate in flexibility for the participants
3 Question : When Binance?
Answer : As usual, any new exchanges will be announced as they arise. We will only add TIO to established exchanges. Of course, every company wants to be on Binance, given their importance in the crypto community. With that said, though, being an exchange ourselves, our major objective is to ensure the question starts being "When trade.io". That is our ultimate goal.
4 Question : For LP, the daily payout will be in fiat or in different cryptos?
Answer : At the onset, until we're able to offer fiat/crypto exchanges, payouts will be daily in crypto.
5 Question : Is Mobile app also planned ? and by when date we can download it from Google play ?
Answer : Yes, no time frame has been established in terms of release, but I would safely expect it a "few" months from release of the platform. Due note, the platform will be optimized for mobile, so you should have no issues using it on most any mobile device.
6 Question : A "long term" ques, for traditional markets (ie equities, FX), what are TIO's a) Competitive advantage b) Plan to attract clients from traditional brokers
Answer : a. Competitive advantage - Competitive advantage apart from a unique, responsive and fully customizable platform is world class customer support and funding/withdrawal. b. Plan to attract clients from traditional brokers -
7 Question : Only two other exchanges have tokens, i.e. BNB & KCS, (Binance & Kucoin) with both having performed fairly well. So my question is how does trade.io plan to differentiate itself from these 2 exchanges.
Answer : We're looking to provide an experience, despite the amount of clients we have, that every client will feel that they are receiving personalized service. We have already hired close to 100+ customer support personnel who are fully trained and ready to rock. Ageed, they are both very formidable exchanges who have done very well in a fairly short amount of time. In addiiton to the exchange itself and support, obviously the liquidity pool is a very unique value add proposition. To our knowledge we're the only exchange that is bascially giving back up to .50 on each dollar earned. This provides an extraordinary opportunity to LP participants.
8 Question : Hey Paul, what will be the process for picking beta testers?
Answer : We will be reaching out to our most loyal TIO holders. You will be contacted by an admin if you're on the short list.
9 Question : Why do you think that the value of the TIO has risen in recent days?
Answer : Obviously the overall market sentiment has helped. I don't want to speak specifically on TIO, but its very nice to see the market has perhaps found a bottom and its time for the companies with actual products and potential rising. I also think the relatively low amount of circulating tokens helps TIO move with very small volume. That was part of the gameplan with keepping the amount of TIO low, and locking a majority of them into the LP.
10 Question : Paul, thinking strategically, how do u see traditional financial platforms like Bloomberg, that are already connected to the financial markets, providing its own crypto exchange( the product that they lack now) to Institutional Investors? When do expect this to happen? And how trade.io will be positioning to attract institution facing this players.
Answer : Great question, we're actually very interested in having discussions with the larger financial platforms to utilize trade.io platform in a white label type format. We feel an exchange that can tap into these large financial portals will have a tremendous competitive advantage, as no single exchange can out spend an bloomberg, etc for market share. Our first major move is by participating in the IFX Expo in May in Cyprus which is the largest gathering of forex brokers both institutional and retail we will be pitching our services to them as well as we are already positioning a white label service of our platform. Stay tuned to our social for updates on this.
11 Question : After the launch of the exchange followed by (unique and awesome) liquidity pool, what is the next big focus of trade.io ?
Answer : World domination! We want to perfect our exchange, liqudiity pool and consulting services quite honestly as they are our core products. We will have bugs, issues, etc. to work through upon launch as every company from Apple to Google has these issues. Its only once we're comfortable with these 3 facets we'll look to start executing additional initiatives. Too often companies try to focus on multiple things out of the starting gate without perfecting their core initiatives. We don't want to fall into that trap.
12 Question : Any plans to partner with coinfi, cindicator, or other platforms to give tradeio platform users an edge? After all, we want users to actively use tradeio daily
Answer : Yes, we are in talks with many 3rd parties that want to partner with trade.io. We are always interested in value adds for our clients.
13 Question : Some months ago, you did a questionnaire about which coins the users want to be added to the exchange, and in the end you gave us a list. It's still early, but wanted to know if that list is still valid?
Answer : Yes, very much so. The gameplan is to launch the major coins first, such as ETH, BTC, BCH, LTC, etc. Then gradually offer the altcoins. We have decided not to offer 100's of tokens on day 1, in order to work through any minor bugs.
14 Question : What are the current biggest challenges faced by TIO and how do you plan to overcome them ?
Answer : As Jim Preissler, our CEO has discussed multiple times, the ever changing regulatory landscape is something that impacts every type of company in crypto. We welcome regulation, however. trade.io is chock full of people that have worked most of their career in regulated industries, this gives us a tremendous advantage in navigating around these uncertain times. Another challenge is security and keeping on top of it. To that end, we have spent a tremendous amount of resources on ensuring our security is robust from Day 1. Too often companies only look to tighten up security after an incident has happen. We have taken a much more proactive stance on security.
15 Question : Will tradeio offer usd pairings in beta or when forex is ready?
Answer : Beta will include USDT pairs.
16 Question : Have we gotten the SEC license?
Answer : No license has been procured in the US. Its actively being worked on using multiple legal teams. We will keep everyone updated as this unfolds.
17 Question : Any marketing plan next month?
Answer : Marketing will be sharing their plans as we get closer to the end of the month. but we have IFX EXPO in May. Please read what Helen Astaniou Chief Marketing Officer has shared during her AMA here - https://www.reddit.com/TradeIOICO/comments/89bz4u/live_qa_with_tradeios_cmo_helen_astaniou_on/
18 Question : If I have 25K tio tokens right now. what will you tell me to do?
Answer : Well, we really can't advise one way or the other, but it goes without saying the liquidity pool is a major useage for TIO and provides tremendous advantages to participate in the success of trade.io The pretty cool thing about the liqudiity pool, is that you're only sharing in the good times and not the bad. You'll only see credits into your account, never debits.
19 Question : What other cool stuff aside from LP that trade.io can offer? to increase more the price of TIO's.?
Answer : a) Partnerships b) More visiblity c) White Labeling of Platform d) ICO Consulting and many, many other things.
20 Question : When do you think you'll be hitting the drums of advertisement? I think this is needed. 1 months from now, 2, 3? Thx
Answer : We'll be engaging in various marketing channels both online and offline to attract direct traders very soon. clear messaging on the benefit mentioned above. This will include where a trader can act as a trader and a liquidity partner at the same time as well as partnerships with existing brokers ..specifically the smaller ones as they suffer from obtaining best pricing for clearing their trades.. hence the liqudiity pool acting as a liquidity and clearing partner. Long story short, very soon, i.e. weeks and not months
